The Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister (MoCTCA), Mr. Rabindra Adhikari said that the government would soon finalize the construction modality of Dhumberwana International Airport at Nijgadh, Bara, the second international airport of Nepal.
On Speaking to the Parliament, Minister Adhikari said that the government had been discussing the modality for the construction and had already received the environmental impact assessment report from experts. He also that claimed his ministry was putting in all efforts to reconstruct heritage sites, including Rani Pokhari and Dharahara, which were destroy by the earthquakes in 2015, at earliest.
Answering lawmakers’ questions, he further said the ministry had improved the services of the national flag carrier Nepal Airlines. “We want more want to buy more aircraft to bring in more tourists,” he added.
Thirty lawmakers, including lawmakers from the ruling Nepal Communist Party and opposition parties raised questions on the services provided by Nepal Airlines Corporation, Airport construction work in different parts of country and new air routes, in the Parliament.
