Melbourne Airport is once again named the best airport in Australia/Pacific, topping other Australian and New Zealand airports for the second consecutive year. The recognition was given by SkyTrax, which surveyed frequent world travelers.
The Victorian hub was also one of the two Aussie airports recognized for providing the highest level of health and safety protocols during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic; hence, the new category award was called the new category award COVID-19 Excellence Award.
The airport awards were announced last month (August), and Qatar’s Hamad bagged the World’s Best Airport award.

Melbourne Airport (MEL), also known as Tullamarine International Airport, is located in the city of Melbourne. Melbourne Airport (MEL) is the second largest airport after Kingsford Smith International Airport (Sydney). Melbourne Airport (MEL) is located 23 km (14 miles) from the center of Melbourne.
Melbourne Airport (MEL) is divided into four terminals. T1, T2, and T3 are in the same building. T4 is in a separate building, just a two-minute walk away. The PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport, Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport, and Ibis Budget Melbourne Airport hotels are attached to the airport.
At Melbourne Airport (MEL), you will find services such as shops, cafes, restaurants, currency exchange, pharmacy, ATMs, and left-luggage offices.
Due to the great distances that we can find in Australia, it is the simplest, cheapest, and most popular way to arrive at the “capital of cool” or “capital of cool.” Melbourne or Tullamarine Airport, located about twenty kilometers northwest of the metropolis, is the most used by both domestic and international flights. It has four terminals, of which Terminal 2 is dedicated to international flights.
The taxi from this terminal to the center involves half an hour and will cost us about 50-65 Australian dollars or what is the same, between 30 and 40 euros at the current exchange (January 2016). Another cheaper option is the regular service, which is the cheapest but also the slowest (around 90 minutes). The Shuttle Bus chartered by Greenbush is worth about 14 Australian dollars. Skybus departs from terminals 1 and 3 and costs AU $ 18, and takes considerably less time.
