A 74-year-old man, Wegal Rosen, was arrested at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport for falsely alleging that there had been a bomb in his hand luggage on July 13. According to airport officials, the event caused more than 50 flight delays and eight cancellations. Rosen’s heart was pounding as he learned about the sheriff’s office costs. On the same day, he was arrested and charged with filing false claims regarding the bomb threat. He was given a 15-year prison sentence. Broward County Prosecutor Eric Linder denounced Rosen’s behavior during a hearing on Monday, emphasizing the seriousness of such an accusation.
Rosen’s permanent abode, according to a Sheriff’s Office investigation, was Toronto. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Rosen is listed as a part-time resident of Deerfield Beach, Florida. On Tuesday, Rosen was unable to make contact. According to Broward Sheriff’s Office records, he was found in jail Tuesday afternoon with a $20,000 debt. Jason Weiss, Rosen’s lawyer, could not be reached for comment right away. Rosen attended the Justice of the Peace hearing on Monday and the Broward Clerk of the Courts.
He was told he couldn’t return to the Fort Lauderdale airport and couldn’t have any firearms or ammo in the clerk’s office, in addition to having bail posted. Rose was sentenced to 15 years in jail, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. According to the newspaper, Rosen’s lawyer, who did not name the newspaper, claimed his client was “not the magic word you utter” at a justice of the peace hearing.
Rosen’s attorney, whose name has not been released, told Judge Tabitha Blackmon that his client was traveling to Toronto to see a cardiologist. The decision said he should return to Canada after paying 20,000 bails. But Blackmond warned that Rose would have to fly home with an alternative route to home.
Bomb threats not too old for the story

In 2019, he was charged with assault charges against a person over the age of 65. The district attorney’s office eventually dropped the case.
