According to the Source, a Malaysian citizen was caught for using drone around Dolakha headquarters Charikot yesterday.
52 year old Tai Ring Th working for UNICEF has now been arrested while flying the drone without taking permission from the authorities from Panaroma Hotel in Charikot. A police official has also seized his drone and other operating processor.
Home Ministry, Government of Nepal has strictly imposed rule of acquiring permission from Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal who needs to fly drone. However, occasional activities of unauthorized drone exercises have been reported in lack of proper regulation awareness in people.
Presently, CAAN provides free authority to the ones trying to fly drones for an appropriate reason. More than twenty permissions have been provided by CAAN after the implication of the procedure. Chief of Safety Division of CAAN informed that the permission has been provided to the person and companies that has taken note of flight place and time in CAAN. CAAN has been issuing NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) for the flying location and time for approval of flying drone, he added.
Nepal Army, British Embassy, ICIMOD, Kathmandu University, Kanjirowa School, Tri Chandra Campus and Department of Archeology are in the list of the organizations that have been authorized to fly the drone. Similarly, Dr. Ram Chandra Pokhrel and Captain of Dhangadi Bed Prakash Upreti have also obtained permission to fly drone in Nepal.
