With the introduction of Bombardier Jet series aircraft on the regional sector, the duration of air travel from Dhangadhi to Kathmandu, the longest among the domestic routes, has come down to 48 minutes, while the normal time for any propelled aircraft is about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
The commercial operation plan of jet aircraft by Saurya Airlines and Shree Airlines has come for the comfort of the travelers. Locals are very happy for the airlines which have the reduced travel time of the passengers along with proving the comforts and feel the traveler of jet with the minimum fare.
On 2004, Cosmic Air became the first airline to introduced Fokker-100, a regional jet aircraft to domestic operation on the aviation history of Nepal. The aircraft currently has been decorated as the First Aircraft museum in Western part of Nepal at Dhangadhi.
Though the first regional jet aircraft was retired and was immobile since 2009, another new private airline operator was born in the country named as Saurya Airlines with the motive to introduce another regional jet aircraft in the country.
After the endeavor of Saurya Airlines, the biggest helicopter company in the country, Shree Airlines witnessed the performance of the aircraft and decided to bring in more number of regional jets in the country and has enter in the fixed wing business introducing two CRJ200 and one CRJ700 series aircraft.
The total time reserved during the entire flight now has been cut down by 25 minutes. The aircraft is capable of cruising up to 12,496 meters high. The distance of Kathmandu and Dhangadhi seem very short.
Previously, Buddha Air was only the carrier to operate the schedule flight to Dhangadhi with its ATR 72-212A series aircraft. According to the Locals, at that mean time the fare for Dhangadhi route was expected to be around 11,000 to 14,000 Nepalese Rupee. After the National Flag, Nepal Airlines introduce the Chinese Aircraft Modern Arc 60 on the Nepalese Sky the monopoly of the Buddha Air was over because the fare on the same sector by national flag carrier was around 6000 Nepalese Rupees which was much more comfortable for the locals for travelling on the Nepal Airlines. Now the locals have praised the two private jetliner proving the comfortable service with the low fare and very short time.
Currently, Saurya Airline is operating two Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft while Shree Airlines is operating two CRJ200 and one CRJ700 aircraft on its fleet.
