Last month U.S.military helicopter crash revealed the death of additional 5 Nepali civilians
An American military chopper UH-1 “Huey” which crashed on May 12 was carrying additional 5 Nepali civilians:conformed by D.N.A analysis. According to the Nepal Army official report “U.S.military helicopter was in earthquake relief mission and was carrying 13 souls onboard. The chopper was carrying additional injured 5 to nearby medical facility.” The investigation team of U.S and Nepal Army are investigating the crash but the cause of the crash is yet not found.
Nepal Army Public Relation Directorate released the names of the victims in the press conference conducted on Friday. The civilians were the residents from Dolkha District. Dhurab Katuwal, Lok Bahadur Katuwal, Shiva Khatri, Yam Bahadur Khatri and Sabitra Shiwakoti were the people who crashed along with Tapendra Rawal and Basanta Bahadur Titaraof Nepal Army according to the official report.
The remnant of the 2 soldiers were identified by their family members and handed them the bodies. Nepal Army have also made arrangements to deliver the respective bodies of remaining 5 civilians to their family members.
