Land Acquisition For Nijgadh International Airport Begins

Kathmandu – 03 August 2016

The construction project of Nijgadh International Airport, near future alternative to Nation’s current sole international airport TIA, has been set into path of rapidity. The government of Nepal has commenced land acquisition process for 1464 ropanees land. For the establishment of airport, 2,26,270 ropanees of land inclusive of land covered by forest area is essential.

As reported, Nepal government will construct airport in its own expenditure as included in budget.

The additional land acquisition for Gautam Buddha International Airport has also been started. About 3833 ropanees of land is needed to be acquired for its construction. Till now, full length runway of Gautam Buddha International Airport has been topsoiled and earth filing task is going on.

According to the sources, Nepal government has also kept Biratnagar and Dhangadi airports into upgradation list to International airport.
