Kathmandu District Court Orders To Terminate Turkish Airlines NRS 2.5 Crore

12 May 2016 – Kathmandu District Court has ordered Standard Chartered Bank to terminate Turkish Airlines NRS. 2.5 Crore possessing account number 01257467502 and 01257467554 until and unless, Turkish clears dues to Zenith Travels, General Sales Agent (GSA) of Turkish Airlines.

Zenith Travels had been attempting to connect Turkey with Nepal via Turkish Airlines since 15 years. Finally on Sep 02, 2013, Turkish Airlines conducted its commercial flight to Nepal with its Wide Body Aircraft A330. Before 2013, Zenith had been working for Turkish as offline GSA only after 2013, it began to work as online GSA.

It has been reported that Turkish Airlines had taken bank guarantee of NRS 7 Crore before appointing Zenith as its GSA. But, there wasn’t any kind of formal agreement. Now, Turkish has already abandon its GSA. Zenith has claimed that Turkish hadn’t returned it’s bank guarantee yet.

Turkish has been conducting its flight to Nepal directly from Istanbul with its wide body A330 aircraft. Its one of the current longest route from Nepal.
