A helicopter of Kailash helicopter AS350 B3e with call sign “9N AML” was involved in a hard landing at Phortse approximately 10:30 AM today.
The helicopter was flying from Thaksindo, Solukhumbu to Phortse carrying consumable goods.
Pratap Jung Pandey, Director of Kailash Air stated that the chopper was conducting SLING OPERATION from Thaksindo, the chopper was forced for hard landing due to wind flow.
Em Nath Adhikari, chief of Lukla Airport stated that shortly after hard landing, the technical team of the company reached Phortse and examined the helicopter.
“After examining the chopper, the helicopter landed at Lukla airport,” he added. Likewise, the technical team from Kathmandu has already departed for examining the chopper, he informed.
There is no causality in the helicopter and it was a good practice of landing helicopter in an emergency the source added.
