Jet Airways Flight 9W 2793 Skids off runway at Indore airport.
May 8, 2016 – A Jet Airways ATR, Flight 9W 2793 skidded off runway after landing at the Indore airport, India yesterday evening.
According to reports, the 72 seater ATR aircraft of Jet Airways that skidded off the runway and hit in loose soil adjacent to the runway, leaving right wing of the aircraft damaged at 7:50PM ( India Local Time).
Jet Airways said, the flight 9W 2983 en route from Delhi to Indore carrying 66 passengers and four crew members onboard. Further added, all crew members and passengers disembarked safely once they stop at the unpaved area.
According to the sources, it was raining during the time of landing made by the Jet Airways’ flight and skids off into the unpaved area.
The runway was shut down for couple of hours after this mishap occurred, which halted few other flights.
