The national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has aided Institute of Engineering (IOE), Pulchowk Campus with the scrap aircraft components. The Aerospace faculty at IOE Pulchowk, under the Department of Mechanical Engineering will use the large quantity of aircraft scrap components received from NAC to establish laboratory facilities.
NAC’s engineering deputy director Mr. Poshak Gyanwali said, “We dispatched more than 400 aircraft scrap components to IOE, Pulchowk Campus that included spoilers, cylinder, heat exchangers, flaps and so on.” We will contribute IOE with other aircraft scrap components in near future, he added.
IOE expressed their warm gratitude to NAC technical departments who helped them throughout the processes. According to the IOE, the received volume of aircraft components will be equipped at the laboratories that will contribute to the courses of Avionics, Airframe and Gas turbine Engines.
NAC’s technical department said that it was their small effort on behalf of NAC especially for the support of IOE Aerospace faculty and wished for the success of Aerospace department of IOE, Pulchowk Campus.
NAC has its maintenance hangar at Tribhuvan International Airport (country’s sole international airport) and currently possesses more than 1000 aircraft scrap components. So, the corporation will be distributing remaining components to IOE in the next phase.
