Increased terrorists act results implementation of commando forces at Nepal’s Airport

Nepal’s airport security has been alerted after the incensement in terrorist act happening around the world. The airport now is under the surveillance of assigned commando trained police force i.e. STP (Special Task Force). After evaluating the security challenge, 35 members from the STP has been assigned as platoons for airport security purpose. The platoon has been selected In order to strengthen airport security, according to Airport police Chief D.I.G Govinda Niraula. As per the decision made by Home Ministry, the commando trained police officers are assigned for the security task. Specially two types of responsibility have been given to Special Task Force carrying all advanced STL weapons.

One of the team has regular patrolling duty from Golden Gate of the Airport to internal Airport premises while the other team are in standby position around the cell at the time of departure of flights and their arrivals. D.I.G Niraula also added, “As the other airport police get busy in their daily work the security purpose the platoon had to be assigned separately”. The different terrorism acts held in Istanbul airport and also in Bangladesh became the major reason for the security alert in all over the world including Nepal. Based on the information, the Islamic State (IS) especially is the reason behind which the world stirred up of terror. Nepal also can be a target of IS, and analyzing the possible threat security of airport compulsorily needs to be strengthened.
