The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC) have instructed helicopter operators to avoid flying near the national parks and wildlife conservation area.

Due to the low flying of helicopters on national parks and wildlife conservation area, it has been damaging and providing the negative effects to the life-cycle of conserved rare and endangered wildlife, including floral and fauna diversity, DNPWC reported. So, the CAA of Nepal has issued a circular requesting all the helicopters operators to strictly follow and operate their respective helicopters under the Civil Aviation Regulation (CAR)-2.

Till date, there are a total of 20 Protected Areas including 12 National Parks, 1 Wildlife Reserves, 6 Conservation Areas and 1 Hunting Reserve in Nepal.
