Government Under Pressure To Operate Jiri Airport Soon
14 Mar 2016 – One of the touristic place of Dolakha District, Jiri, has been deprived from the flight service from past 10-12 years as it’s sole airport hasn’t been able to resume which has created lots obstacle in Tourism and accessibility to Jiri.
Entrepreneurs of Jiri has even demanded to hand the contract of airport re-operation to private sector if government fails to operate the airport on time. Had the airport been resumed, one would have reached Jiri within mins by flight.
During the 15th Industrial Annual Seminar held in Jiri, Former chairman Mr. Suraj Baidya stated that the main cause of Nepal being underdeveloped is due to the habit of government to seek for foreign investors instead of having enough Nepalese investors.
Newly elected chairman Mr. Madhukumar Karki blamed Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Ananda Prasad Pokhrel for not being serious in the opeartion of Jiri Airport
