Government announces construction of airports at Nijgadh and Kavre; Construction of Bhairawa and Pokhara Airport to be expedited

The government of Nepal has announced to operate the Bhairahawa international airport within the next fiscal year which is currently at under construction. The airport had already completed most of its physical part of its construction.
Presenting the government’s policy and program for the coming year in the parliament, President Vidyadevi Bhandari had said that the Pokhara airport will also be operational in 2021. She said that the government is dedicated to complete the pavement of the runways of two airports and overall physical structures of the airport by next year.
She had also announced that the construction of an international airport at Nijgadh in Bara will start from this year and domestic airport will be constructed at Kavre. Similarly, the government is planning to set up an domestic airport in Chuhan Danda of Tehrathum.
