March 16, 2017-KATHMANDU

The twenty century established Gorkha Airlines had started its flight operations in Nepal back on 8 July 1996. The company had initiated its first air service with two Mil Mi-17 helicopters and later moved on to start flight operation with fixed-wing aircraft. The company could not sustain its flight operation and failed to provide its service and was later ceased from 2012.

But the airline company has fastened its seat belt to return back in Nepal aviation industry introducing Embraer Regional Jet (ERJ-145), which is a very new aircraft type to be operated in the country where most of the companies are likely to operate their flights with jet aircraft.

Gorkha Airlines has been working hardly on its documentation process at Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN). The company is anticipated to have a press meet on the mid of April after the completion of the documentation processing.
