Germany shows interest in GBIA

Germany has shown interest in operating and managing Gautam Buddha International Airport which is under construction at Bhairahawa.

German Ambassador to Nepal Roland Schäfer in meeting with province 5 Chief Minister stated about interest over the National Pride Project. Ambassador had meeting with the chief minister in which the minister stated about being ready to provide the project if any investors were ready and ambassador expressed about working on GBIA.

Chief Minister stated that, they would work with provincial government to operate and manage the airport.

Late Tourism Minster Mr. Rabindra Adhikari had been in talk with providing the airport management project to Germen Government and German officials had put forwarded the project lately.

German delegates met with the delegates of Province number 5 and asked about ongoing process, aids required, etc. of Province 5 lately. Chief Minister stated that they have been making various studies to work on various project and stated about development of country by progressing on prosperity of the state.

He also added that Germany has been helping Nepal in various field and is expecting the same from the German for the development of the Province.

In response, Mr. Schäfer stated that they are hoping to help according to primary objective as set by province for development.

Various delegates from both party had talked on various projects and the German delegates expressed condolence to those who died on Helicopter crash which under the command of Capt. Pravakar K.C. carrying Honorable Minister Rabindra Adhikari, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) and 6 other passengers.
