Four new fuel bowsers brought for TIA, other fourteen to be added soon

Nepal Oil Corporation has added four new fuel bowsers for Tribhuvan International Airport. Manoj Thakur, director of the corporation, informed that four new bowsers with 27,000 liter each capacity have been added.
“Two fuel bowsers arrived before the lockdown,” he said. “Two more stopped by the lockdown have passed the Bhairahawa customs office Monday afternoon and left for Kathmandu.” Under normal circumstances, the airport consumes 500,000 liters of fuel daily with the help of seven fuel bowsers.
He said that all the four new refuelers will be brought into operation after some technical calibrations. The corporation has added large capacity of fuel bowser as per the increment of demand from international airlines.
In the meantime, tender for 14 new fuel bowsers has been open seeing the current demands of industry. According to the corporation, a tender has been issued for the purchase of 4 fuel bowsers with a capacity of 27,000 liters each. The process of purchasing 2 large capacity fuel bowsers for international airports in Bhairahawa and Pokhara has also been started. “The 10 fuel bowsers will have a capacity of 16,000 liters,” Thakur said. “We use these at various airports for domestic flights” he added.
