Flight Safety Dept. informs airline operators regarding Safety Oversight Program

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Flight Safety Standard Department (FSSD) published a notice to all airlines operators regarding the Safety Oversight Programme 2018/2019.

FSSD instructed all the airline operators to download the Safety Oversight Programme from FSSD official website for review and necessary preparation. The Safety Oversight Programme 2018/2019 comprises of both Airworthiness Inspection Division and Flight Operation Division, stated notice.

The CAA Nepal Safety Oversight Programme 2018/2019 has been divided into 8 areas: Surveillance Activities(Planned Inspection), Regulatory Audit (Planned Audit), SAFA, Spot Check, Night Surveillance, Ramp Inspection, Surveillance of Foreign MRO and Maintenance Training Organization (MTO), Special Inspection or Audit (unplanned Inspection or Audit)

Additionally, the new Aircraft Maintenance Experience log book is also now available on the official website which can be used for filling maintenance experience on the logbook.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal is a regulatory body dealing with safety issues. CAA of Nepal is also responsible for regulation of air transport services to/from/within Nepal and for enforcement of Civil Air Regulations, Airworthiness, Operations and Air safety. The FSSD, formerly known as Aviation Safety Department under CAA Nepal comprises of different divisions and section namely Airworthiness Inspection Division, Flight Standards and Licensing Division, Flight Operations Division.
