The 15 days closure of flight operation at Bhojpur Airport has ended as Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is set to begin regular flights from today with revised airfare.
The airfare has been increased by Rs1,350 which now stands at Rs5,130 for Kathmandu-Bhojpur flight. Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) increased the aviation turbine fuel price by Rs 5 per liter due to which the airfare has been hiked.
Previously, flights have been closed at the airport as NAC announced cancellations of their flights for 15 days starting from May 22. NAC had taken the decision with the reasons that both their Twin Otter DHC-6-300 aircraft had to undergo maintenance.
The national flag carrier added two flights to the Bhojpur Airport making it four flights a week-Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Tara Air which used to conduct Kathmandu-Bhojpur flight once a week terminated their scheduled operation.
The temporary closure of the airport caused inconvenience to the locals specially elderly people and patients.
