First repatriation flight from Muscat for Kathmandu has departed

Repatriation flight from Muscat, Oman has been departed this morning with 166 passengers. Salam Air Airbus A320-251N with registration A40-OVH Flight Number OV427 has airborne from Oman at around 8:25 AM (Oman local time) and will land Kathmandu at around 13:45 Hrs (Local).

This flight has been conducted in the initiation of Nepal embassy Oman. The embassy has requested the Nepalese to have the corona test at a place of their choice as the report of the corona test has been made mandatory for Nepalese returning Nepal.

Passengers had bought the tickets themselves as the flight fare has been declared by Embassy of Nepal, Oman. For Nepalese returning to Nepal, Salaam Air has charged 115 Omani Riyals, or 36,106 rupees according to today’s exchange rate.

The embassy has stated that those who have negative report in PCR should not have to stay in quarantine in Nepal and can go home directly.

Similarly Air Arabia Flight ABY1753 is in route from UAE to Kathmandu. As per the Tribhuvan International Airport spokesperson Dev chandra lal Karna, the flight for Air Arabia is a cargo flight and will land Kathmandu at around 13:00 Hrs (Local)
