fifteen injured and airport closed as Dynamic Airways catches fire during takeoff
15 passengers were injured when a Dynamic Airways Boeing 767-200 aircraft carrying 101 passengers caught fire when trying to take off. According to preliminary reports, the cause of the accident has been identified as a leakage of fuel from the aircraft which lead to an engine catching fire. One of the 15 injured passengers is critical and has been taken to the nearby hospital for treatment along with all other passengers.
The flight crew notified the ATC of the danger after fuel leakage was detected. The aircraft was trying to take off from Fort Lauderdale –Hollywood International Airport as it caught fire. The airport has been closed after the incident. Dynamic Airways was established in 2010 and had been flying with North Carolina as its flight base. The aircraft however was 29 years old.
