Doti airport at Dadeldhura which has been closed for nearly 2 decades is coming into operation. The airport which was established in 2028 B.S was closed during CPN-Maoist conflict.
During Maoist revolution in 2052. the airport halted its daily operation and from 2061 it was fully closed. Lately effort to restart the operation from the airport has been done.
Initiation to reconstruct and re-operation of the airport has been done and locals of Doti have been excited after the news.
Citizens from Doti, Dadeldhura, Achham and Bajura are expected to receive services from the airport after it comes into operation. Also tourist number is expected to be increased afterwards.
The airport renovation project is expected to be completed within this fiscal year with the estimated cost of 7 crore.
