Dispute Between Council of Minister and Ministry of Tourism Regarding Purchase of Chinese Aircraft
07 July, 2016 – As reported, due to the apprehension of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), the Tourism and Civil Aviation Ministry had sent the file associated with the purchase of Nepal Airlines upcoming chinese aircraft (Xian MA-60 and Y-12e’s ) to the council of minister. Once the file reaches to council of minister, then CIAA won’t be allowed to conduct investigation as it hasn’t been given right to do so by the constitution of Nepal.
Recently, Council of minister has forwarded a letter enquiring Tourism Ministry “why those file had been sent to it despite Tourism Ministry has got the right to decide whether to buy those aircraft or not ? ” By the convey of that letter, it has been revealed about the dispute between two governmental bodies.
By this incident, one can easily interpret the possibility of scam that Tourism Ministry might commit . According to the sources, with the request from Tourism Secretary, Tourism Minister Mr. Ananda Prasad Pokhrel had sent those file related with the purchase of chinese aircraft for decision making to Council of Minister. But, council of Minister has sent the letter questioning them about their act despite their authority to make their decision at own.
Tourism Secretary has asserted that he is ready to be transferred but they won’t make decision at their own in such controversial matter.
