Direct flights to Bara and Manang from Pokhara

Gandaki Provincial government has stated to connect Pokhara with every provinces in its current fiscal year plan and now the district will feature direct flight to Simara in Bara to Manang.

Gandaki Province tourism minister along with Civil Aviation Authority official and other local representatives have decided to operate Pokhara-Simara flight from end of January 2019 and are expecting to operate to Humde airport in Manang by early January next year.

Humde airport has been out of operation since long run and had occasional flight once and locals have been urging to re-commence the operation at the airport.

As per officials, all the necessary preparation has been going on to operate the airport soon and technical team from CAAN will be visiting the airports soon to study about current situation.

As per the information, the airlines companies stopped the flights to Manang due to lack of passengers after the construction of road of Besisahar-Chamey and Chamey to Khangsar and now to operate the continuous flight, CAAN has stated the local governing body of Manang and Bara to assure about air passengers and both areas authorities have also agreed on the topic.

With the re-flight operation, peoples of Manang are expected to have ease in transportation of locally grown products as well as for passengers too. People of Manang were in joy as Summit Air’s LET L-410 landed in Humde Airport in the district after two years on December 4, 2017 however, it was just a charter flight.

The flight to Bara from Pokhara will be flying for the first time and it is expected to uplift tourism potential of both sectors.

With the flight operation, the process to operate flights to all provinces from Pokhara will also be carried out and Gandaki province officials have urged CAAN to make inter-province flight schedule as soon as possible.
