The DIA was made to replace the Stapleton International Airport. It was due to the limited space and the Stapleton’s inefficient runways, which wasn’t designed to handle the wind pattern and weather of Denver. The Federal officers authorized the construction of the airport in 1989. However, the airport was only finished and operational in the year 1995. The poor planning and the constant change in the airport’s design were attributed to the delay in the completion of the airport.

The Westin Denver International Airport Hotel and Conference Center is connected to the Jeppesen terminal. The A-Line commuter train station below the hotel enables entry to the hotel.

It occupies an area of 37,500 sq. feet of meeting and conference space. The Hotel provides up to 519 guest rooms with the inclusion of 35 suites. The hotel also contains an enclosed heated swimming pool and a fitness centre. These provide a beautiful view of the front range and the airport’s iconic and unique tent roof.
