Decline in passengers numbers: Both in inbound and outbound flights
Currently the aviation sector of Nepal is facing a huge loss due to the reduced number of flights outbound and inbound. Already due to the April 25 earthquake, the inbound flights had been diminished and lack of proper tourism rescue planning has even worsened the situation.
Not only inbound flights, airline operator’s been stroked hard since the number of outbound flights has decreased significantly due to the manpower companies protesting against the government for introducing free visa and ticket rule to seven major labor destinations. This has caused Nepal an overall loss of 42 percent from aviation earnings and airlines cut down in flight frequencies.
If the concerned stakeholders delay to implement necessary steps to recover the situation, our country may experience an expected increased revenue loss of about 55 percent.
