With the resumption of 21 hour operation of Tribhuvan International airport (TIA), Tulsipur Airport, Dang is set to operate daily flights.
Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will be conducting daily flights and the flight will be conducted at 9:15 in the morning.
NAC official stated that previously flights were not frequent due to heavy wind during day time and with the early operation from TIA along with increase in air passenger, the corporation is set to operate daily flights. The flight schedule also has been updated accordingly.
NAC started 1 daily flight from late December last year.
Dang airport which came into operation in 1954 AD has been irregular in its services due to lack of refueling facilities and runway. Airline operators also did not show interest to operate at Dang stating the airport lacked many infrastructures.
Airport operation committee has stated that the up gradation work is being done in coordination with Tulispur sub-municipality and the preparation of constructing temporary fuel depot and terminal expansion is being carried out.
Dang (Tarigaun) Airport is located in western Nepal at an elevation of 634 m/2080 ft. above mean sea level. The airport has Bituminous Paved (Asphalt Concrete) runway with its dimension of 750 m x 30 meters aligned to 160 degrees and 340 degrees. The airport currently has three parking bay which can accommodate the STOL aircraft like Dornier D228, DHC6 Twin Otter, LET L410, Harbin Y12e and Cessna Grand Caravan C208.
