Coronavirus; Canadians scramble to retrieve tourists stranded in Nepal via Qatar Airways special flight

A Qatar Airways special flight has been scheduled to evacuate Canadian Citizens stranded in Nepal on 11th April 2020 today.

According to Qatar Airways officials for Nepal, it has been informed that an Airbus A330-202 ‘A7-ACJ’ Flight Number QR7487 of Qatar Airways has already departed from Doha International Airport 06:22 A.M. and will land at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) today.

The aircraft has scheduled to take off at 01:45 P.M. afternoon today for Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, Candia making a Technical Stop at Doha International Airport evacuating Canadian nationals.

However, the priority would be given to elderly citizens and families with children. And also to those who have been in contact with the embassy and have their contact details listed in the embassy already.

The bookings for this special flight can be overwhelming. A similar evacuation flight to withdraw the tourists in Nepal has been carried out continuously by Qatar Airways and other national airways.
