Construction Of Pokhara International Airport Begins
Jun 4, 2016 – For the pre-preparation of construction of Pokhara International Airport (PIA), a team consisting 13 personnel’s of Chinese CAMC Engineering has arrived to Pokhara. The team has already started construction of temporary shelter inside PIA boundary.
According to the Project Manager Mr. J.D of CAMCE, they have commenced the construction of temporary shelter and begun the study of Airport.
Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) had signed the contract with CAMCE on 8th of Jestha 2071 B.S for the construction of Pokhara International Airport at Chhinedanda.
Capital of 21 crore 70 lakhs USD has been predicted for the construction of PIA. After the completion of construction of PIA, it would possess 2.5 km long runway, Taxi-ways , aprons, terminal buildings , Aircraft Hangar, ATC tower etc.
The 1200m long entry road to PIA has been begun to be pitched too.
