China’s First Electric Aircraft
China has revealed its first electric passenger aircraft. According to the manufacturers the aircraft could have an implication on low cost training, tourism, rescue operations, etc. The aircraft was designed and produced by the joint collaboration between Shenyang Aerospace University and Liaoning General Aviation Academy which is located in the northeastern Liaoning province.
The aircraft “BX1E” has a wingspan of 14.5 meter, maximum payload of 230 kg and can maintain its flight at 3000 meters. The aircraft can be charged within 2 hours and maintain 45 minutes to 1 hour flight at a maximum speed of 160 km per hour.
The aircraft has received an airworthiness certificate. The aircraft manufacturer has already delivered two of its kind to Liaoning Ruixiang General Co.Ltd. Each aircraft costs about one million yuan. This aircraft is already taking market by storm as the manufacturers received 28 new orders, according to the recent report.
