Chief District Officer inaugurates modern X-ray baggage scanning machine at Dhangadi

Dhangadi Airport projected fourth international airport of the country has finally started baggage scanning service with newly inaugurated X-ray machine yesterday.

After a long wait, Dhangadi airport has started x-ray baggage scanning service for more convenient security checking protocol. The machine was inaugurated by Chief District Officer of Kailali Mr. Govinda Rijal on 25 Ashoj around 2:10pm, Wednesday.

Installment of X-ray machine has solved the problem of informal baggage security checking reported Mr. Chhabi Singh Thakkula, Chief of Dhangadi Airport.

 The machine was brought from Malaysia with an estimated budget of nearly 8 million Nepali Rupees. According to Mr. Chhabi Singh Thakkula, “two police professional had attended a training season regarding the use of the X-Ray baggage scanning machine in Kathmandu”.

The police officers had travelled Kathmandu to attain the training program conducted by CAAN. The training lasted for 15 days duration (21Bhadra – 6 Ashoj).

The scanning machine was installed months back but was not operated.

At present Nepal airlines, Shree Airlines, Buddha air, Saurya Airlines conduct regular flights to Dhangadi airport from Kathmandu.
