Charter flights from Nepalgunj Airport terminated

Chartered flight in the hilly area of the province number 5, 6 and 7 from Nepalgunj Airport located at Banke is terminated from Thursday.

Pratapbabu Tiwari, head of Civil Aviation Authority in Nepalgunj informed that they have decided to stop charter flights because passenger were charged expensive air ticket in the name of such flights.

The private carrier had been charging more than two times in the name of chartered flights, he added.

Tiwari said that the feasible airfare has been set up and the new airfare is slightly higher than the previous convenient fare but lower than the fare for the charter flights.

With this initiations, all the passengers will get air tickets for the equal pricing.

Currently, Tara Air, Sita Air, Summit Air and Nepal Airlines Corporation have been conducting scheduled flights from Nepalgunj Airport to the hilly airfields.

Dominance of agent or brokers in airlines flying for Nepalgunj- Karnali route had increased thus, converting normal flight to chartered flight hence, increasing the normal airfare. Passengers have suffered a lot as they were compelled to wait for weeks to get the flight after taking the ticket so, the authority has come up with the new decision.
