Chandragadhi Airport, an airport serving Bhadrapur Municipality in Jhapa is set to be facilitated with the Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) depot. The airport official said that the tender for the construction of the depot will be announced within a month.
This airport currently features ATF refueling facility with 3 fuel bowsers in its vicinity. The airport authority has planned to construct a fuel storage tank of 3 lakh liters capacity with the motive to cater to the increasing demand for fuel and on time availability of fuel during emergencies or blockades.
The domestic airline operators have been demanding the expansion of refueling system in all the domestic airports of Nepal. According to the demand of the airliners, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) will be gradually implementing plans to expand the refueling system in many other domestic airports.

Chandragadhi, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, Surkhet and Ramechhap airport have ATF refueling services. Some of them also have a fuel storage depot facility while in some of the airports, the fuel required is to be supplied daily as per the need.
Chandragadhi is one of the busiest domestic airports in the Eastern part of the country which will be featuring night flight operation from the beginning of the year 2019. Necessary preparations are underway for introducing night flight operation at the airport. Likewise, the extension of the runway and terminal building, improvement of airport drainage system and other beautification project are also going on at the airport.
