Mrs. Chanda Sherpa has been appointed as new Managing Director of one of the leading domestic carrier Yeti Airlines.
Chanda Sherpa is the spouse of late Ang Tshiring Sherpa, who was previously the then managing director of the airlines. Ang Tshiring Sherpa was one of the 7 people onboard of Air Dynasty along with late tourism minister that crashed near Pathibhara on 27 February 2018.
Chanda Sherpa is also the Managing director of Yeti Adventure.
Similarly, Mr. Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa has been appointed as Executive Chairman, Mr. Norbu Tshiring Sherpa being the Deputy Managing Director whereas Mr. Vijay Bahadur Shrestha as Group Executive Director and Mr. Umesh Chandra Rai as Chief Executive Officer.
Ang Tshiring Sherpa was one of the powerful aviation and hospitality entrepreneurs who founded Yeti airlines along with sister airline Tara air and helicopter company Air Dynasty.
Yeti airlines fleet currently includes 4 ATR 72-500 series aircraft along with 6 BAe Jetstream-41 aircraft. Tara air, sister company of the airline fleet includes 2 Dornier DO228 series aircraft along with 4 twin-otter aircraft.
Yeti airline is also in process to procure its fifth ATR aircraft.
Yeti airline operates to major destination of the country while Tara air has been operating in rural airports of the country.
