CAAN to send technical team for investigation of tail rotor strike incident at Hilsa

Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) is preparing to dispatch technical team for the necessary investigation of the tail rotor strike incident at Simikot which took life of a person identified as Mr. Narendra Kumar Kartik Meheta from India.

The technical team is expected to reach the incident site tomorrow.

As per the press release from CAAN, the AS350B3e (H125) chopper belonging to Manang Air landed Hilsa at 3:15 pm local time with 5 Indian nationals and one Nepali on board. All the passengers disembarked safely from the helicopter except Mr. Meheta who walked towards the tail rotor despite the warnings from the security personnel and airline staffs and got struck by the rotor resulting instant death.

The deceased body has been kept at Simikot District Hospital at Humla.

Manang Air said, “The management and staffs of MANANG AIR PVT. LTD. would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friend of the Mr Mehata and will be doing all we can to assist them at this difficult time.”
