Officials and workers of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) are waiting for Finance Ministry’s decision for obtaining the bonus while finance ministry has denied on the provision of providing any bonus to staffs of any regulatory bodies as rule made by the government.
An official of CAAN stated that, bonus needs to be distributed and they have already sent notice to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) about it. The office of auditor general has also been positive toward providing bonus but the finance ministry has halted the bonus as per the rule said the official.
With the rule insisted by the finance ministry, CAAN staffs will now not be able to receive any bonus even though CAAN makes any profit but CAAN persist on giving the bonus to its staff as per legal procedure.
CAAN had planned to share bonus of last 3 year a year back but Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had taken over suspecting it. CAAN started making a profit since 7 years ago and has been distributing dividend onwards to the government and had been separating budget for the bonus.
CAAN staffs have been hindered by the decision of finance ministry to halt their bonus and have forecasted negativity in the work. The official from the CAAN also said that MoCTCA has talked about bonus with the finance ministry.
