Budget of Nrs19.35 billion allocated for development of aviation sector

Nepal Government has allocated budget of Rs 19.35 billion for development and progress of aviation industry for Fiscal year 2075/2076.

The government said that the high technology approach will be used to expedite aviation infrastructure with required skilled manpower. The government has made necessary plans to upgrade domestic airport all over the country.

Furthermore, government has given more priority in enhancement of Tribhuvan International Airport, the construction of Second International Airport (SIA) in Nijgadh, Pokhara Regional International Airport and Gautam Buddha International Airport.

The plan has begun to operate flights to neighbor country from Biratnagar, Dhangadi, Janakpur and Nepalgunj as a regional airport.

The government is also preparing to begin construction work of the airport at Naagidanda, Banepa as a alternative domestic airport in the aim of reducing the air traffic of Tribhuvan International Airport. The civil aviation authority has been preparing for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the proposed domestic airport site at Banepa.
