A new aircraft of Buddha Air, the leading private domestic carrier of Nepal is being manufactured at Toulouse, France.
Additional ATR 72-500 with call sign 9N-AMY with the cost of NRs. 1 billion is likely to arrive in Nepal during the third week of March 2019.
The company is adding fleet in the aim of conducting flights to the neighboring country India.
The aircraft will undergo livery implantation process and other documentation procedure after arriving to Nepal.
Buddha Air is making preparations to conduct 3 weekly Kolkata flights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting from 1st April, 2019. The airline is currently conducting flights to Varanasi twice a week on Monday and Friday.
At present, Buddha holds 52 per cent domestic market share with 11 aircraft in operation.
Buddha’s main motive to conduct flights to Kolkata is the tourism promotion, said media manager Rupesh Joshi. The airlines is working effectively to promote ‘Visit Nepal Year 2020’, added Joshi.
Buddha Air has topped 2018 internal flight by operating more than 28 thousand flights in the year.
The carrier topped the position of highest number of domestic flight of 2018 with 28,889 flights being operated giving service to more than 1.3 Million passenger in domestic sector.
The airline has already set a new record by providing services to more than 1.4 Million air passengers in the year in both domestic and international sector.
