Buddha Air to receive additional ATR 72 by the end of January

Buddha Air, the progressive and leading private airline of Nepal is nearing to take the delivery of additional ATR 72 which is expected to arrive Nepal by January 26/27. Spokesperson for the airline Mr. Santosh Khati said, “We are preparing to bring the aircraft by January 27, 2018 for which the team from Buddha Air will depart to France by January 20.”

A total of 8 teams including 2 flight crews, 1 operational staff, 2 B1/B2 Licensed Engineer, 1 Quality Assurance Staff, 1 Airworthiness Staff and one official from Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) will depart to France for receiving the aircraft.

As per the information, the ATR 72 is 10 years old maintained aircraft as it was manufactured in 2007. The company will also procure another additional ATR 72 and its arrival will be finalized by March-April 2018.

Buddha Air is buying additional aircraft to enhance its operational capacity and boost its service among the maximum passengers. Post the addition of two ATR 72, one will be used for scheduled flights whereas the other will be standby to cope up with the delay and maintenance problems the airline will be facing.

At present Buddha Air owns two Beechcraft 1900D, three ATR 42-320, and four ATR 72-500 aircraft.

The airline currently conducts scheduled flights to Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Dhangadhi, Janakpur, Nepalgunj, Pokhara, Simara, Tumlingtar, Bhadrapur and Bharatpur. It also operates one-hour-long Mountain sightseeing flights.
