One of the leading private carrier Buddha air Managing Director Mr. Birendra Bahadur Basnet was honored today by Nepal Association of Tour and Travel (NATTA).
On the occasion of 52nd Annual general meeting of NATTA held at Hotel Yak and Yeti, Mr Banset was honored with NATTA Sagarmatha Award. The award was presented for his dedication and commitment towards making significant impact on aviation industry.
Buddha air has been playing lead role in making and alerting concerned authority regarding various safety issue and necessary infrastructure arrangement in various airports of the country.
Lately, the airline has also achieved milestone of providing service to more than 1.4 Million air passengers in 2018.
The carrier operates around 90 flights daily currently and is expected to increase to around 100 after it adds 2 more aircraft in between first quarter of 2019.
Currently, Buddha Air has 2 Beechcraft 1900D manufactured by Raytheon Aircraft (now Hawker Beechcraft), 3 ATR 42-320 and 6 ATR 72-500.
The airlines has also announced to conduct international flights with the base from Pokhara Regional International Airport from 2021 by having 30% share of the airline, 30% to any interested strategic partner and rest to Public.
Buddha Air is preparing to operate flights to India and China at the first phase after the completion of Pokhara Regional International Airport. Buddha Air has planned to operate international flight with the ‘Boeing 737 Max’ series aircraft.
NATTA also praised about Mr. Basnet leadership in promoting tourism in Nepal at the event.
