British Airways Flight was hit by an object that suspected to be a drone.
18 April 2016 – On Sunday, the British Airways flight inbound from Geneva, carrying 132 passengers and five crew members onboard, was hit while approach to land at Heathrow Airport, London at 12:50 BST.
So far, this incident believed to be occurred for the very first time ever in Uk.
After the safe land, the pilot reported – an object, suspected to be a drone, which had struck the front of the Airbus A320, while on the process of landing.
However, A Civil Aviation Authority’ spokesperson is skeptical about drone striking on the aircraft and is reluctant to endorse this statement.
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police’s aviation security team located at Heathrow, all set to lead the investigation further.
As per British Airways spokesperson: “Our A320 apparently made safe land, and it was taken under complete inspection by our engineering team, thereafter it was cleared to operate its next flights.”
