Boeing 757 ‘9N-ACB’ remains grounded due to negligence from NAC management

April 5, 2017

The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) Boeing 757 with registration ‘9N-ACB’ has remained grounded after it conducted flight to Bangkok last Friday. The aircraft has been grounded at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok which has resulted huge amount of losses.

The aircraft was grounded because the management failed to replace protective breathing equipment which is vital for supplying oxygen to crewmembers. The equipment must be replaced every 10 years however; the management did not show any concern towards it.

According to the source, it only takes less than an hour to replace the breathing equipment. Knowing the life of the equipment has already expired, the Boeing 757 was flown to Bangkok last Friday.

The NAC officials claimed that the expired equipment has already been ordered from Atlanta, US.

The Corporation has to pay hefty parking charges at the airport and all of the bookings have been cancelled.  So, the issue will generate heavy loss for the corporation.

NAC conducted a board meeting on Sunday regarding the issue and informed that the issue will be investigated.
