Due to adverse weather of Terai, Bhojpur-Biratnagar flight service of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has been halted.
According to the corporation official of NAC Bhojpur office, the flights have been halted since 15 days following bad weather.
Raj Mijar, chief of Bhojpur station of NAC informed, as the weather gets better, the flight operation will resume shortly.
Previously, the corporation has been operating flights to Biratnagar on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday weekly.
The corporation has arranged 50% discount to differently able people, 25% to the students and 15% of the senior citizens in air tickets.
Though flight between Bhojpur-Biratnagar has been halted, flights between Kathmandu and Bhojpur are in operation for 6 days in a week except on Sunday.
Recently, the corporation launched online ticketing system for internal flights from December 16, 2018.
In the program organized in Kathmandu, Madan Kharel, executive chairman of NAC had inaugurated online ticketing for internal flights. He stated that the customer can book their ticket staying at home and enjoy the flight services easily through new online ticketing system of NAC.
“The online ticketing system not only eases passengers to book their ticket but also help NAC gain benefits and to provide services without long processes to their customers,” he added.
Ashok Sigdel, spokesperson of NAC stated that online ticketing has begun to facilitate passengers in ticketing.
According to Sigdel, the corporation has collaborated with IME and e-sewa for e-ticketing. “Anyone from abroad can book ticket to any destination in Nepal,” he added.
In 2074, NAC made an arrangement for booking online ticket for international flights only.
The corporation operates international flights with its 2 wide body A330 aircraft, 2 narrow body A 320 and 1 Boeing aircraft. Similarly, for domestic flights, the corporation operates with its 3 Twin-otter, 2 MA-60, 4 Y-12e aircraft. The corporation has been operating to 8 international destinations and 22 domestic destinations.
