Bhojpur Airport to restart its service
After seven months renewal period, Bhojpur Airport will be functional again and continue its eastern regional flight from the 3rd week of June. The airport was shut down since November 24 last year to continue repair and upgrade work of runway, parking lot and black-topping of taxiway.
According to the head of CAAN, Somesh Thapa, CAAN has invested 50 million rupees to restore the airport and the work was handed to Kalika Pacific Joint Venture. They had completed about 80% of the work. He informed the remaining work i.e. black topping on the runway would be finished in the first week of August. The regular flight will be continued after the inspection engineers verify the quality of the runway.
Local peoples at the region are frequently requesting the local administrators and relative stake holders to resume the flight services as soon as possible. They lack the local health services, medicines and relief stuffs, after suffering from the tremor of the quake.
