Bangladesh today mourns for the victim of US-Bangla plane crash in Nepal. National flag of the country flies at half-mast at government and nongovernmental organizations and at the Bangladesh embassies abroad.
National holiday has been given in Bangladesh and special prayers are to be offered at mosques, temples, churches and pagodas across the country on Friday.
US-Bangla Airlines has suspended its flights to Kathmandu for minimum of a month following the crash that killed 51 people. As per Bdnews 24 of Bangladesh, the airlines spokesperson Kamrul Islam said the flight Dhaka-Kathmandu-Dhaka has stopped from Wednesday.
He added that flights on other domestic and international routes are being operated as scheduled. Some sources said that the flight will be suspended for months while an aircraft which can operate has been taken for C-check.
However, Spokesperson of TIA Premnath Thakur said that the airlines have not provided any information to the airport. There is practice to inform about such activities added Mr. Thakur.
Ministry of Home Affairs said that officials from Bangladesh have praised the effort of Nepal government towards rescue. Similarly Bangladesh has also offered help sending teams of doctors to pace up the treatment facility. Bangladesh has also offered help to Nepal to speed up the DNA tests in order to identify the bodies.
