Baggage Scanner X-Ray inaugurated at Bhadrapur Airport

Bhadrapur Airport finally has been facilitated with a baggage scanner (x-ray machine) facility.

The Machine was inaugurated on Wednesday morning in the Presence of Chief District Officers Mr. Rishiram Tiwari, Mayor of Bhadrapur Municipality and other delegates’.

The airport authority has installed the HEIMANN X-RAY INSPECTION SYSTEM manufactured by Smiths Detection at London, UK. Police personnel after the installation of the x-ray scanner will now check the luggage’s of the passengers by X-Ray Machine.

According to the Airport Chief, Mr. Purna Prasad Chudal, three security officers of the Bhadrapur Airport have been through necessary training regarding the X-Ray Machine.

The machine was installed at the airport some months ago with a cost of about Rs 5 million. The X-Ray Machine allows easier and more localized detection of metallic, nonmetallic items and Dangerous Goods.

Previously, a year back the airport had added Fuel Refueling system. The airport now is planning to install VOR/DME by early 2018.
