An Asiana plane collided Sunday with a Turkish Airlines jet during taxi on the runway of the Istanbul International Atatürk Airport.
The Asiana A330 collided into the Turkish Airlines A321’s tail while parking and caused extensive damage on the vertical stabilizer of the Turkish plane. The incident that happened on the ground damaged the winglet of the starboard wing on its Airbus A330 jet and destroyed the tailfin of a Turkish Airlines Airbus A321. The accident occurred at 5:30 p.m. local time on Sunday, causing a fire on the Turkish plane.
Asiana Airlines said Monday no one was hurt after one of its jets collided with a Turkish Airlines jet as it was moving towards a runway from a taxiway at Istanbul Airport.
Fire crews rushed to the scene and started a cooling process in case of an eruption of fire. No injuries have been reported. The investigation of the incident is going on.
