Airlines operators have requested the passengers and VIPs not to go outside the airport after Check-in. Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) has issued a Press Release requesting the passengers to stay in assigned place even though the flight may get delayed following adverse weather and the renovation project of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
It has become great issues after news were flashed about Communication Minister missed his flights. Buddha Air published Press Release giving clarification after the news published about the flight from Bhairahawa to Kathmandu of Honorable Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Baskota and his team on April 15, 2019.
Though Minister Baskota was on his way to airport, due to adverse weather, the flight had to be operated late as it was the first duty of every airline companies to operate flights at scheduled time safely. The carrier clarifying the confusions stated that if the flight was stopped for another 30-35 minutes then the flight had to make night stop at Bhairahawa airport because of adverse weather which meant that living expenses of 68 passengers had to be managed by the airline.
AOAN expects help and understanding attitude from every passenger as 20% flights were deducted following the rehabilitation project of TIA and it has been challenging for management department to manage huge number of flights for short time in daily basis. AOAN also said that it will be easy to operate flights when passengers are in assigned place.
