The national pride project of construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport is going to have a re extension in its deadline of completion. As most of the big projects of country lag way behind their completion schedule, Gautam Buddha Airport is also a perfect example with the extension of its deadline over times. The airport has been provided extension till end of December, 2019. However, this is not the first time the project has extended its deadline.
The project had started the construction with first deadline of December 2017. After the progress was very tiny, a time period till June 2018 had been added to deadline. And again the deadline was sifted to June 2019 which has also been further extended to December 2019 now.
The project authorities have informed that the project construction is in final phases already and a little extension on deadline could accommodate all the remaining works. Even though the time period has been extended the investment for the project remains same he informed. Altogether 73% of the total construction has been attained he added. The international runway of this airport is 3060 meters long which has also been completed by the project
The project has already completed the construction of major structures of the airport like Runway, Taxiway, Aprons, Terminal structures and only the lighting and finishing works are remaining. The project manager believes that they would be completing the construction one month prior the extended deadline.
